“…red sky, red dirt and tumble weeds, as far as I can see…” – Lubbock Senior Photographer

March 28, 2010

I consider myself a Texan first and foremost. I can’t see myself living in any other state. Really, what else do you need? We are able to drive for 12 hours and never leave the state. We get to experience winter and summer in the same week, sometimes. =) We have Dublin Dr. Pepper (which I just tried for the first time last week!), Texas Football, cowboys, pickups, bluebonnets, incredible sunsets, the ocean, mountains, rivers, lakes, canyons, and best of all…the ability to say I’m a Texan! I could go on forever about why I love Texas but I think I need a whole post just for that. Last week I met up with Avrey, to take her senior pictures. Avrey is a Texan too, and shares the same love of this great dusty oasis that I do. She emailed me and said I want a Texas-style photo shoot. I was so excited, but when the day came it was windy and the sky was brown. Avrey said no problem let’s go for it, and I am so glad we did. The blowing dust just made her Texas style shoot even more authentic. I had a blast hanging out with her and her mom, Jan. Thanks Jan for holding my reflector…you were awesome!!! And thank you Avrey for rockin’ it out in the wind with me!

It’s been a little quite on this blog…

March 22, 2010

Well it has been a little quite on the blog but that definitely doesn’t reflect what has been happening around SB Studios! I have had a lot of things going on here this past week and will definitely be letting you all know tomorrow, but it is late and I need some good R&R. Until tomorrow, here is a couple shots I took of two of my favorite men. My Husband, John, and my nephew, Colt! We took Colt to the rodeo while he was in town and he really had alot of fun. I had fun too pretending that Colt was my adorble, sweet little boy…haha! I always claim my nieces or nephews as my own when I take them places…it’s so much fun!

Things that make me go…yummm! – Lubbock Texas Photographer

March 7, 2010

I am not a fan of eggs. I usually refuse to eat them unless they are covered in ranchero sauce. But, give me a carton full of Cadbury Eggs and I will eat them up (no ranchero sauce needed!) I love when Easter comes because these lovely little treats fill the shelves at the grocery store. It’s probably best that they only appear once a year because I might just O.D. on them. So…need an idea for an Easter gift for me…look no further…Cadbury please!

“…lost in this moment, ain’t worried about tomorrow…” – Lubbock Texas Photographer

March 2, 2010

I have had the privilege of photographing these little girls several times throughout their little lives. I love getting to see them grow and change. Their dad sure has his hands full doesn’t he! I found some awesome new locations too. Let me know what you think…leave me a comment…I love um!!

Check it out… – Lubbock Texas Photographer

March 1, 2010

I am pretty excited to show all of you blog readers that I have been published in a book. Local author, Margaret Z. Couch, just released her newest book, “Women who listen to horses”. Margaret owns and runs Trinity Ranch. One of her programs she puts on is called Soul Purpose. Go check out her websites and feel free to give her an email if you would like to purchase a copy of her book. I had so much fun getting to capture the relationship between the ladies of the Soul Purpose Experience class with the horses. Thank you Margaret for asking me to be a part of this journey!
