“…Just road trippin’ on a long weekend…” – Lubbock Photographer
August 26, 2010Well, John and I headed out of town the other weekend…destination…hill country. My Great Aunt Kathleen has a vacation home on the Blanco River in Wimberley and we have been going to it since I was a baby! It is so great to be able to go with my husband now and have an incredibly relaxing and inexpensive vacation! We pretty much cookout, swim in the river, eat out, swim in the river, go to Gruene and…swim in the river! I have been wanting to go to the Wimberley Trade Days for a while now and we just happened to be there on the weekend it was taking place. I found some pretty interesting people to talk to and things to buy!
John, at Blue Hole. (Local swimming hole)
The Blue Hole!
Yes people…this was with a wide angle lens! They always come right up to you in the backyard.
One of my favorite things to do on vacation is get John to walk around with me in the dark and find things to photograph!
Our lovely house on the river!
The river behind the house.
On our way home we went through Luckenbach!! I love that place!
The other day John came in and said, “You want to go pick some corn?” HaHa, I know some of you may think I’m crazy, but I was so excited. So we loaded up and headed out to Randy’s (one of John’s friends) field and proceeded to pick…corn that is! It was so much fun to do something different and that corn is good folks.
Randy and John were eating that stuff right in the field and they made me try it too!
Here’s Randy. He’s the one that let us come pick some corn. Thanks Randy!
There were huge disgusting worms in there. So John pretty much took care of that part!
Here is me cleaning the corn!
“…sunshine, you are my sunshine…” – Lubbock Photographer
July 20, 2010Most of you know, but lately it has been raining a ton here in Lubbock. Well…that makes for some pretty awesome cloudscapes! I love when the sun is shining, the sky is blue and there are clouds everywhere. So beautiful. I took these shots on the way home from one of my sessions the other night. I pulled over on the side of the road and everyone that drove past was looking in the direction I was shooting wondering what the big deal was. Dusk has got to be the best part of the day. Everything starts to wind down and it makes you sit still for a minute. We get so caught up in the craziness of life during the day and forget to just enjoy ourselves. Dusk is my reminder that there is more to life than a to-do list.
…Viva La Mexico… – Texas Photographer
February 19, 2010I would love to be a world traveler. The idea of seeing as many places as I can in my lifetime sounds glamorous. I had the opportunity to spend 10 extremely fun days in Mexico this past week. I soaked up every moment of it, but it was so good to come home. Glamorous trips or not, it is great to sleep in your own bed. We flew in to Mexico City on Friday and spent the next two days there exploring and touring some incredible architecture. On Sunday we headed down to Puebla and spent the remainder of the trip there. We worked alongside the architecture students at Universidad de las Americas and they showed us around the city. Here are some of the images from all our adventures. There is a ton…enjoy!

February 2, 2010Dear El Nino,
I do love to photograph your beauty, but you have destroyed my favorite tree! Please have mercy on our natural landscape and go into hibernation for a while. Thanks, Sara =)
These are a few images I took of the latest winter snow that came through our part of the world. Enjoy!

“I just wanna go huntin’, Try to find me in the woods.”
September 15, 2009This past weekend John and I went with our friends, Zach and Amber, to go hunting on a ranch in Tatum, NM. We drove around the ranch, looked for antelopes, rode some horses, took some pictures and had an awesome cookout! Check out the images I took while we were there!

The HUGE grasshopper we found in the sunflower field…

Amber caught the grasshopper and it spit, what looked like poop, on her!! haha!

September 3, 2009Here are few images of the things I have been doing lately! My niece came over for a camp out the other night and I snapped a few of her. Then, the other night Amber and I went out to listen to Parker Sands play at the 5oth Street Bar & Grill. He is awesome guys…you should go check him out! Lately John has been roping, so I took a few shots of him the other night. Just thought it would be fun to share!!
