“…Just road trippin’ on a long weekend…” – Lubbock Photographer

August 26, 2010

Well, John and I headed out of town the other weekend…destination…hill country. My Great Aunt Kathleen has a vacation home on the Blanco River in Wimberley and we have been going to it since I was a baby! It is so great to be able to go with my husband now and have an incredibly relaxing and inexpensive vacation! We pretty much cookout, swim in the river, eat out, swim in the river, go to Gruene and…swim in the river! I have been wanting to go to the Wimberley Trade Days for a while now and we just happened to be there on the weekend it was taking place. I found some pretty interesting people to talk to and things to buy!

John, at Blue Hole. (Local swimming hole)

The Blue Hole!

Yes people…this was with a wide angle lens! They always come right up to you in the backyard.

One of my favorite things to do on vacation is get John to walk around with me in the dark and find things to photograph!

Our lovely house on the river!

The river behind the house.

On our way home we went through Luckenbach!! I love that place!

“…You won’t find street signs where I wanna be…” – Lubbock Photographer

August 2, 2010

The other day John came in and said, “You want to go pick some corn?” HaHa, I know some of you may think I’m crazy, but I was so excited. So we loaded up and headed out to Randy’s (one of John’s friends) field and proceeded to pick…corn that is! It was so much fun to do something different and that corn is good folks.

Randy and John were eating that stuff right in the field and they made me try it too!

Here’s Randy. He’s the one that let us come pick some corn. Thanks Randy!

There were huge disgusting worms in there. So John pretty much took care of that part!

Here is me cleaning the corn!

“…sunshine, you are my sunshine…” – Lubbock Photographer

July 20, 2010

Most of you know, but lately it has been raining a ton here in Lubbock. Well…that makes for some pretty awesome cloudscapes! I love when the sun is shining, the sky is blue and there are clouds everywhere. So beautiful. I took these shots on the way home from one of my sessions the other night. I pulled over on the side of the road and everyone that drove past was looking in the direction I was shooting wondering what the big deal was. Dusk has got to be the best part of the day. Everything starts to wind down and it makes you sit still for a minute. We get so caught up in the craziness of life during the day and forget to just enjoy ourselves. Dusk is my reminder that there is more to life than a to-do list.

“…Taste so good make a grown man cry…” – Lubbock Photographer

June 10, 2010

So I got a new backdrop a few weeks back, and needed to do a little experimenting. Okay, I know a plain ole white backdrop doesn’t sound that exciting but I have been having a blast with it. I have been able to try loads of new lighting set-ups. But, when I first unwrapped this little jewel I was itching for some test subjects. So…introducing…my BBQ sandwich, my niece, and my incredibly hott husband John. ha-ha! I love how clean it is and really forces you to focus on the subject. PS…that sandwich is incredible…B-Man’s BBQ at Milwaukee & FM2641…you must go get some! There was enough meat in that baby for me to make 3 sandwiches…

“Daughters will love like you do…” – Lubbock Childrens Photographer

May 20, 2010

These are my nieces. I love my nieces and nephews more than I ever thought I could love a child. I can’t even imagine how much I would love my own children if I had any. It is so great to hear their little voices light up with excitement when you walk in the door, or the feel up their little arms wrapping around you to give biggest, yet tiniest, hug!! We did a little photo shoot of them a couple of weeks back as a mother day’s gift for their mom (my sis-in-law). I get so excited when I get to shoot them because it is just like a play day. They are trained pretty well too; because they will go about their business playing like I want them to and out of nowhere just strike a pose! Ha-ha…it is hilarious.

It’s been a little quite on this blog…

March 22, 2010

Well it has been a little quite on the blog but that definitely doesn’t reflect what has been happening around SB Studios! I have had a lot of things going on here this past week and will definitely be letting you all know tomorrow, but it is late and I need some good R&R. Until tomorrow, here is a couple shots I took of two of my favorite men. My Husband, John, and my nephew, Colt! We took Colt to the rodeo while he was in town and he really had alot of fun. I had fun too pretending that Colt was my adorble, sweet little boy…haha! I always claim my nieces or nephews as my own when I take them places…it’s so much fun!

Things that make me go…yummm! – Lubbock Texas Photographer

March 7, 2010

I am not a fan of eggs. I usually refuse to eat them unless they are covered in ranchero sauce. But, give me a carton full of Cadbury Eggs and I will eat them up (no ranchero sauce needed!) I love when Easter comes because these lovely little treats fill the shelves at the grocery store. It’s probably best that they only appear once a year because I might just O.D. on them. So…need an idea for an Easter gift for me…look no further…Cadbury please!

“…papa, paparazzi, Oo La La…” – Lubbock Photographer

February 24, 2010

My little nieces came over last night to play and eat supper. They showed up in their dress up clothes… (I don’t think they ever take them off)…ha-ha! They decided to turn my studio into a performance stage. These are some pictures of them singing Lady Gaga, Beyonce and some Barbie song I had never heard. It was the cutest thing. John and I also got a picture from Jenna that she drew of John, me and her camping out. How sweet is that…it is now so proudly taped to the fridge…yes…taped…ha-ha!

…Viva La Mexico… – Texas Photographer

February 19, 2010

I would love to be a world traveler. The idea of seeing as many places as I can in my lifetime sounds glamorous. I had the opportunity to spend 10 extremely fun days in Mexico this past week. I soaked up every moment of it, but it was so good to come home. Glamorous trips or not, it is great to sleep in your own bed. We flew in to Mexico City on Friday and spent the next two days there exploring and touring some incredible architecture. On Sunday we headed down to Puebla and spent the remainder of the trip there. We worked alongside the architecture students at Universidad de las Americas and they showed us around the city. Here are some of the images from all our adventures. There is a ton…enjoy!

Adios Amigos!!!!!! – Texas Photographer

February 4, 2010

Well, I have some awesome news…I am goinig to Mexico! I will be leaving in the morning at 5:15am…yikes…and getting to Mexico City about 11am. I have always wanted to go to Mexico City and explore so when it came time for me to register for my final Architecture Studio I chose the one with an awesome trip!! I will be going with a group of eight, so don’t worry, we will be safe. I will be back on the 14th…I know…10 DAYS!! You better believe I will have a ton of images to show off when I get back.

If any of you need to talk to me while I am out of the country the best bet would be email. I will have my phone with me but service will probably be limited. Have a great weekend and week…Adios!!!
